INFERNAL DEVICES-BOOK THREE

TITLE: CLOCKWORK PRINCESS
AUTHOR:CASSANDRA CLARE
SERIES: THE INFERNAL DEVICES
RATING:★★★

SUMMARY:

Tessa Gray should be happy—aren't all brides happy? Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute. A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa's heart, will do anything to save her.

REVIEW:

I think i am bipolar after reading this book, it has totally engulfed me within it.
I have read a lot of books but trust me on this that this book is one among my most cherished books ever.
I gave this book a five out of five stars because i haven't read a series that was put into an end that tastefully and wonderfully
So if you haven't read the first and second book of the series i would recommend you to read those only than would you be able to understand this book.

Lets start with the characters, so what i liked in this book was that apart from Will, James and Tessa for obvious reasons was the real importance given to the other characters starting from Charlotte, Henry,Sophia, Gabriel and Gideon who are the Lightwood brothers, Magnus Bane, and of course Mortmain, and even Bridgette the cook. Each of them had a very specific area and they stood out to be really nice , also there was new love angles forming and the new dynamics within ,which was wonderful to read about.

The plot goes around as how Mortmain wants Tessa for his purpose and we come to know why he wants Tessa and what exactly is Tessa. Her powers to shape shift has always been a mystery as she was not a Warlock and here you will discover what exactly she is and why Mortmain needs her alive to complete his purpose, and what exactly his purpose is.

I really loved the love triangle going on in this series between Jem ,Tessa and Will and it was so sad for me because i was so sandwiched between whom to take sides with in this book because here we see a whole new aspect in Will and Jem's character.

The bromance going on is awesome, the term PARABATHAI  itself is so new and fresh and to love each other and be as one soul in two bodies is what Jem and Will are about , and they give a whole new definition as to what brotherly love is.

There are no such negatives about this book that i would pin point except for the fact that the confrontation between the Shadowhunters and Mortmain was really lacking in some extra punch and the automatons he created with demons inside them though sounded super cool didn't really make the action scene too dynamic.

The ending OMGish ....it was perfect and i mean too perfect and on second thoughts i think ' well in real does this happen'  but hey who cares because for me the ending rocked and it was just bewitchingly beautiful.

Now that the series is over i am in grief and delight , in grief because the series is over and i wish i could read this all over again and experience the gushing moments altogether but also i am happy because the book couldn't have ended any better than this.

A book i would recommend everyone...Go grab it...Happy New Year everyone...

“Of course you can have a true Shadowhunter name," Will said. "You can have mine."
Tessa stared at him, all black and white against the black-and-white snow and stone. "Your name?"
Will took a step toward her, till they stood face-to-face. Then he reached to take her hand and slid off her glove, which he put into his pocket. He held her bare hand in his, his fingers curved around hers. His hand was warm and callused, and his touch made her shiver. His eyes were steady and blue; they were everything that Will was: true and tender, sharp and witty, loving and kind. "Marry me," he said. "Marry me, Tess. Marry me and be called Tessa Herondale. Or be Tessa Gray, or be whatever you wish to call yourself, but marry me and stay with me and never leave me, for I cannot bear another day of my life to go by that does not have you in it.”
― Cassandra ClareClockwork Princess

“Will rose slowly to his feet. He could not believe he was doing what he was doing, but it was clear that he was, clear as the silver rim around the black of Jem’s eyes. “If there is a life after this one,” he said, “let me meet you in it, James Carstairs.”

BEARD??

BEARD,STUBBLE OR CLEAN SHAVED , WHICH OF THESE DO U PREFER ??

This may have come across really random but seriously we girls have different choices but well 70% of you may agree with me that men who are clean shaved are so much more sexy and alluring..
I mean come on girls who wants a gorilla right...i will tell you a personal experience down below..

For example look at Brad Pitt

The picture of before and after, it looks a thousand time different and why ? Simply because that beard make him look really aged and aggressive;while some of you may argue that beards make you look manly , i think its really unhygienic too if you double check so i prefer clean shaved men and clean shaved men really look CLEAN ...and sophisticated and get sophisticated women too..i mean he got ANGIE guys. Guys cant deny the fact that shaving really takes of years and makes a man look younger, look at the picture above again and you will know it for sure.

Women in general love guys who are clean and neat at least if  not a clean bedroom they expect a neat hygiene too. Who the hell would like to kiss a man who has food or anything stuck on his beard. ERRR...EWWWWWW!!!!!

A particular instance happened with me once. It all started in college canteen ,so i meet this handsome looking guy and we talk and talk and decide to meet up for a date next Friday and then BOOM....he comes up that day at the cafe all geared up for a date and i am like

' You look different'

(WELL WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOUR FACE? WHATS WITH THE BEARD)

This is what i was thinking and he told me that his friends told him that beard is so in and it makes guys look more of a man than a teenager ...well he didn't know that he looked less of a man but more of a SCARECROW.. because even a stubble needs to be shaped well and it is not necessary that since it suits David Beckham or John Abraham that it would suit any other person too...

That was the END...

So i think guys need to really analyse and act their age and not try to be overly matured cause it is not a turn on but a total turn off . If you know that it suits you and it does than go ahead and if not then please grab those RAZORS and chuck it off and glam the girls.

GOD IS A GAMER

TITLE: GOD IS A GAMER
AUTHOR: RAVI SUBRAMANIAN
RATING:★★★

SUMMARY:

highrise building, plunging to her death. The finance minister has made some promises
that he is finding hard to keep. The LTTE has unleashed terror in America that sends
the FBI on a wild goose chase, bringing them to Mumbai.
Enter Varun, parttime drug dealer and fulltime genius. He turns around the gaming
company before disaster strikes. Meanwhile, the investigators plunge headlong into
the shady world of bitcoins and the Dark Net, websites that only exist for illegal
transactions—drugs, sex and money. God Is a Gamer culminates in a stunning climax
where money means nothing, assassination is taught by the ancient Greeks, and nothing
is as it seems.

REVIEW;

BOOM...this book was packed with thrill right from the beginning.
I received the signed copy of the book but was not able to review it earlier because i had my finals, anyways coming back to the book, i loved the book.

Honestly i was a bit hesitant as to how i would like this book after i read the first few pages of it because it had lot of  terms which i would refer to as too calculative and economy based, so i was a bit on the other side but as the story unfolds it gets more interesting and you get the idea and how the bitcoins and how the giant finances work.

The book kicks start with the US senator being killed and the resulting investigations to figure it out.

Then comes two large corporate heads i.e. Vijay Banga who is the President of MasterCard International and Joseph Saunders the CEO of VISA International

Later on India comes to the scene where an International banking company faces trouble when the people are scammed off their money.

I think this book is for those people who are interested in banking cause it has a huge amount of banking topics in it.

Since it is a thriller a mystery if i write much about it you would get to know the plot a bit so i would not take away the reading experience from you because trust me guys i know how it feels like when someone give you the spoilers.

All in all it is not my absolute favorite because the ending was quite predictable but the twist and the turns and the plot to be precise kept me hooked.

If you like thrillers or you have a cliche with banking books i would suggest you to read it.

PRIVATE INDIA

TITLE: PRIVATE INDIA
AUTHOR: ASHWIN SANGHI & JAMES PETTERSON
SERIES: PRIVATE 8
RATING: ★★★

SUMMARY:

When Santosh Wagh isn't struggling out of a bottle of whisky he's head of Private India, the Mumbai branch of the world's finest PI agency.

In a city of over thirteen million he has his work cut out at the best of times. But now someone is killing women - seemingly unconnected women murdered in a chilling ritual, with strange objects placed carefully at their death scenes.

As Santosh and his team race to find the killer, an even greater danger faces Private India - a danger that could threaten the lives of thousands of innocent Mumbai citizens

REVIEW:

AUTHOR SIGNED COPY. FREE OF COST . AWESOME THRILLER
What more can anyone possibly ask. I woke up to a not so happy Monday only to be greeted two hours later by the lovely courier man and got this book.

I really liked the book and how could i even miss it ,DUH.. James Patterson was the subject featured in Times Magazine as ' The Man Cant Miss' so come on how could i skip this out. More Than 220 million copies of his books are sold out worldwide. It's just amazing. So i was really excited to read the story this combo authors came up with.

Coming back to the book, there is a mysterious person a killer on a murder junket
Private India is a detective agency consisting of:
1. Head officer- Santosh Wagh
2. Investigator- Nisha Gandhe
3.Medical Examiner: Mubeen
4. Engineer- Hari
5. Head- Jack Morgan

All of these characters were sketched so well and they had their own lives and issues going on throughout the book.

Santosh was the one i pictured as ACP Pradyuman from CID except a lot younger. He was very intelligent and his knowledge about everything blew me away. He seemed to be a person with lot of humanity and respect and his caring nature and that tough attitude was great to read about.

Nisha was brave and chivalrous and mubeen and hari were great personalities too.
Jack was the one who binded them all, he was like the father figure and the binding agent .
Rupesh is another character he is a policeman - well Friend or Frenemy * SPOILER ALERT*

They together are the ones who dig out for the killer who is killing and strangely he is killing only WOMEN with yellow scarfs and later we find out that they have some ancient connections with  Goddess Durga and her many avatars.

Ashwin Sanghi brings his mythological Midas touch here and takes this mystery book into a whole new level.

At first it can get a bit too over whelming reading about so many  mythological stuffs but once you get the grasp of it you'll fly through it.
Other instances which i really like are when Santosh is referred to as Chulbul Pandey it was cool.

So the murder plot, the characters and the whole mythological kick were the positive aspects for me.

Negatives i would say are that by the time you reach halfway through the book there are so many characters who are introduced that it becomes confusing to remember them and also some characters could be omitted to make it more simplified , other than that it was an awesome read.

Murder with Mythological elements and references wooo....its a treat so what are you waiting for go get the book and Durga Puja is approaching so go grab it.

Redo your Room -Make My Home

Make My Home is a new lifestyle E-shopping destination.
You get everything from furniture, electrical's, bathroom, kitchen and furnishing sections.
So the contest goes this way that i have to choose three items to give my room a new spin.

I choose to redo my Bedroom and i would make it look MINIMALISTIC + ethnic... well i wrote minimalistic in CAPS because the most part of the room would be minimal and only a teeny weeny part will have a hit of Colour i.e. ETHNIC.

The picture given below is just how the overall room would look...

I would add three main elements and the link to those are given below...do check it out

1. Mirror- The long mirror would totally do justice to an overall white room and also it is a great add on when you want to see yourself head to toe or maybe click a quick SELFIE ..*wink* Mirror are really a wise investment if you have a small room and it gives an illusion which makes the room seem more bigger.. GREAT right..

  http://www.makemyhome.com/decor-60/mirrors/deknudt-9808-cfn.html

2. Sofa-  Sofa in bedroom seems quite debatable but i think they add a nice element to the overall look.
Reading in sofa with a mug of coffee well that's my BINGO.
The sofa i have chosen is a single seater though it upon you, if you like a double seater you can try that.
I basically chose a very vibrant ethnic sofa type so that it adds a dash of colour and quirks the room up.

 http://www.makemyhome.com/furniture/sofas/marwar-stores-khanta-fabric-sofa-design-4.html

3. Painting- Thirdly, i chose a Bani Thani painting which would look beautiful and pull out the whole look of the room along with the sofa ,its just an icing on the cake.

 http://www.makemyhome.com/decor-60/wall-paintings/little-india-waiting-princess-bani-thani-gemstone-painting-340.html

White walls and mirror would co ordinate really well and the whole white room would give a really simple and minimal look and this has an advantage since White is like an empty canvas and you can paint it with any color you want. So here the Sofa and the Painting are my paints for now...

So go on check out the site and the three items listed above..Hope you like them as much as i loved choosing them out.

If i can then i would surely love to do a post on a reading nook area or a study room deco inspiration too....until then xoxo

FOREVER MINE

TITLE: FOREVER MINE
AUTHOR:ELIZABETH REYES
SERIES: MORENO BROTHERS #1
RATING:★★★

SUMMARY:

Seventeen-year old Sarah’s life is turned upside down when her single mom is sent to jail. She’s forced to move, leaving behind everything she’s ever known, including her best friend Sydney. Lost and bitter in a new school, her one goal is to save money and move back home. Then she meets Angel Moreno. Enigmatic but gorgeous, Angel is almost too good to be true. Except for one thing, his archaic belief that guys and girls can never be “just friends”. The problem? Sarah’s best friend Sydney is not a girl. With their unexpected romance intensifying to places neither ever experienced, how long can Sarah keep Angel in the dark about the guy waiting for her back home?

REVIEW:

FOREVER MINE - Cheesy title right...so i dont even know from where to start because this book has a hell lot of wonderful characters, but our main characters are Sarah and Angel.
Oh Angel i gushed over him the whole time.

Sarah is seventeen year old and her childhood has mostly been on the move until she finally settled with her mom in Arizona, but this is not the main issue here the reason why Sarah feels her world fall apart is because her mom has been sent to prison for embezzlement for three long years due to which she was forced to go and live with her aunt and step- cousin ,Valerie, in La Jolla California which meant she got seperated from her only best friend Sydney. She was certain that she would return to Arizona as soon as she turns eighteen so that she could finish off high school with Sydney.

First day of school is when she meets ANGEL...and BOOM ..blown out by the description given about his personality and looks but the BOOMish moment was when you felt that *insta-love * aspect. Its like they layed eyes on each other and sparks flew and personally i am no insta-love fan so i found it funny and unrealistic on my part.

Then finally Sarah and Angel got together. I was really doubtful at a point if Angel was serious or was just bluffing with Sarah but he was definitely very serious , but they were great together and couldn't keep their hands off each other especially Angel. But it was nothing extreme.

Angel was so enigmatic and baffling i loved him, he was really a strong character.

Yes he was protective .. OK very protective but not in a bad way. He had girls ogling over him all the time but he only cared for Sarah..i know AWWWW right.
Angel was really protective about Sarah he didn't want any guy being inappropriate with his girl, not even if it is Sarah's coach of the school team.. BTW he was a douche bag and he payed for it.
His protective trait was nice i feel some people may not like it but i kind of embrace that kind of protectiveness but only till a certain level.

The problems start when Sarah hides the fact that her best fren Sydney is a guy. Naturally by the name Angel figured Sydney was a girl and Sarah didn't correct because she knew how protective Angel was and she didnt want to cause a scene or trouble. Finally she decides to tell Angel and stop running from telling him the truth.(Ok i am not giving any spoilers..go read it.)
This was really the only flaw that stood out in her character.

The other characters were great as well. We get to meet their family and friends too.

Valerie , Sarah's cousin was very spunky and cool and no strings attached kind of girl but then there was something cooking between her and Angel's brother - Alex. Alex was a great guy too and of course he was a MORENO so he had the looks too. He was really a funny guy and i cant wait to read the next book in the series which is about Alex and Valerie.
Sophie was their little sister and all the brothers were overly protective about their little sis which got into her nerves.
Eric, Sal and Romero were great too..

All together the book was good not that i loveeeddd it but yes i did like it a lot.

♥♥♥

“What?” Eric shook his head. “Angel Moreno is into talking to chicks now? When did you turn into a total wuss?"

Angel shrugged, and took another bite of his food.

He avoided looking at Eric; suddenly not sure he wanted to talk about it. “I don’t know, dude, she’s just cool to hang with, I guess.”

Eric nodded, as if he got it. “So, you’re not into her? I thought she was pretty hot.”

“I’m into her, you ass, just ‘cause I didn’t bone her the first night. Not all girls are like that, you know.”

Eric grinned. “So, you did get shot down.”

Anna and the French Kiss

TITLE : ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS
AUTHOR: STEPHANIE PERKINS
SERIES: STANDALONE
RATING: ★★★

SUMMARY :
Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

REVIEW:

Bonjour everyone...hmm so you must be wondering why am i suddenly talking in French well this lovely book is set in the City of love Paris.
By the summary itself you must be thinking that you have figured a well enough zest of the book but honestly this book has lot more to offer.

I was in a month long reading slump from which i needed to recover so i went on and read this very hyped book and YES i finished it in a day...that's how much i loved the book. I know i should have read this book long back but i wasn't so interested having heard about a Cheating boyfriend as one of the main character.
And i don't root for cheaters...so i put that book away from my reading list but i finally decided to read it and trust me when i say this book is swoon worthy..its just an adorable read.

So our main characters are :

1.Anna Oliphant
2. Étienne St. Clair

(And this are their friends..)
3. Bridgette Sanderwick
4. Ellie
5. Meredith
6. Rashmi
7. Josh

Anna is our main and title character of the book. Anna as described in the summary is sent to Paris to study for her final year leaving behind her best friend Bridgette and also a possible love interest Christopher whom she nicknamed Toph
Her father a best selling author decided to sent her to SOAP- School Of America in Paris.
Anna detested going to Paris because she had to not only leave everyone in Atlanta but also she didn't understand or nor speak French. I loved Anna for the most parts, she was funny and was a great friend.

Anna manages to be friends with Meredith and eventually with Josh , Rashmi and the  Étienne St. Clair in SOAP who all happen to hang out together and Josh and Rashmi were in a relationship.

So Étienne St. Clair or St. Clair as he is called is Anna's main love interest .
He was born in United States and bought up in England and so he had a British accent which was apparently very sexy and he has a charm of his own and he could sweep girls off their feet and his hair did get a lot of attention which totally reminded me of Edward and his hair issues and the love everyone had for his hair ( cheesy )
He had a serious relationship with Ellie who studied in Parsons.

Anna being no exception falls in love with this beautiful man St. Clair only to go through a hell long of a roller coaster ride. St. clair had a girlfriend and Anna loved him and so did Meredith ..oh yess, and that was not enough when she goes home she find's her best friend back  in Atlanta to be going out with Toph.

There was a lot tension between Anna and St. Clair and lot of love dramas. I was gushing and also cursing St. Clair a lot of time to be a man and just get up and tell her when he clearly loved her too. I cursed him a lot because he was just stringing Anna along without dumping his girlfriend he was cheating his girlfriend and that was a major flaw in his character.

The other characters of the book i.e. their friends and parents.
All of the friend were very supportive and nice and even though later Anna forgives Bridgette i would never have been able to forgive her personally.
Anna's parents were very well and good if compared to St. Clair's father who was just psychic i feel.

The setting of the book was just staggering and i loved it every inch of it.

The humor was fantastic too. Anna and the things she experienced due to language issue was funny. She would be embarrassed to order for food because she didn't know how to talk in French and she avoided having to order food for at least 5 days which was hilarious. But i can totally relate to Anna in this case ..having been shifted from my native place at first i too faced a lot of language issues.
Seriously i was pretty annoyed after reading her resentment for going to Paris because Paris personally is my most most loved place and i love everything about France...and i would love to visit there someday . If you ask me what i know and love about Paris i just love the different ancient landmarks, the Cathedral and Moulin Rouge and the food (*hungry*) and yes EIFFEL TOWER and the Paris Fashion Week

The ending couldn't have been any better. It was SPOT ON.
The story is pretty predictable i kind of knew what the end will be like but still the way Stephanie Perkins wrote the book was Great and even though it was predictable she bought bits and pieces at the right time for that extra kick and punch to the storyline.
The whole time i was reading this book it brought a dopey smile on my face and my heart just fluttered ...it just gave me the Feels.
If you are looking for an easy summer read do pick this up its AWESOME.
